Heeellllooooo DA.
You don't know how many of these "tell us about yourself" boxes I came across in my lifetime. Every time I come across them, I always have to over think about what to put. I struggle with trying to make each entry unique, as though somebody is going to go and look at every single "tell us about yourself" entry I did on past websites. One day I'm gonna get a random email from somebody, and that person's gonna be like: "Johnaven! Your bio at deviantART is lame. You just copy/pasted it from facebook. Can't you be original?"
I've been an artist all my life. I mainly deal with comic art. I love how comics are the perfect blend of 2 artistic talents: visual art and story telling. To me, a person that creates comics is EXTRA special because you're dealing with 2 disciplines. It's like taking a double major at college. That's the kind of artist I want to be.

Favourite style of art: A style where I know what's going on in the pic

All 119 Niece Web comics are now up on DeviantART in my gallery. I hope you enjoy them.
Uploading Niece Web has forced me to read my comic again and I have a new found appreciation for it, that was lost in the years since I ended the comic. I worked my butt off for a year and a half on this comic, and my art/writing skills have improved SO MUCH in that short amount of time. The later comics especially, I found myself enjoying my own work and thinking it was cool.
So why did I end Niece Web? Lots of different reasons that came together to form a perfect storm. I suffered from depression that was getting worse around that time. I was feeling

Mega Niece Web Uploads

I spent the last 2 and a half hours uploading Niece Web comics to DA. I uploaded something like 20 comics tonight, and I got a bit of favs and some watches, which I really appreciate. Since last journal update, I uploaded 44 comics. I believe there are 114 comics in total, so I still have quite a bit more to upload.

Hello DA! I spent a good hour or 2, going over the "Disastrous Date" story arc of Niece Web, and added more detailed descriptions and commentary. I included when the comics were first published on the internet, on nieceweb.com (now defunct). I included the medium on which the comic was created. And on most of the comics, I added commentary where I give "behind the scenes" tidbits and tell stories. Hope you enjoy, and I'll be adding detailed descriptions to the other comics as well later on.
